What is this appeal for?
The Foundation has recently established the BluePages Appeal, to fund the ongoing delivery and maintenance of the BluePages www.bluepages.anu.edu.au and BlueBoard www.blueboard.anu.edu.au websites.

About Blue Pages...
The BluePages Depression Information Website is a comprehensive online source of information about depression compiled by the Centre for Mental Health Research. It provides information about the symptoms of depression and how it is diagnosed, summarises which medical, psychological and alternative treatments work for depression (and which don't) and contains an extensive list of people, organisations, books, websites, and other resources that may be helpful to people who are depressed.

Users can complete online depression and anxiety quizzes (to see how their depressive and anxiety symptoms compare with others) and use a specialised search engine to search over Australian and international depression sites.

BluePages also features BlueBoard - an asynchronous online bulletin board on which users can share their experiences of depression or caring for someone who is depressed.

These websites are provided free of charge to the community and are used as a depression reference by many university, government and community organisations.

How will these funds be used?

The BluePages appeal will help ensure the continued delivery of this valuable site to the community, through site maintenance, BlueBoard moderation, ongoing scientific review of treatment rating information, and regular updating of resource information. BluePages was created through research funding (and has been the subject of scientific papers outlining its effectiveness in the reduction of depressive symptoms in users, and in increasing depression literacy of users), however the ongoing (and free) delivery of this community resource depends on public donations.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:
  • Moderation of the BlueBoard depression bulletin board www.blueboard.anu.edu.au
  • Systematic reviews of scientific evidence, which underpins the treatment rating information on the BluePages site
  • Regular updating of depression resource information for all Australian States and Territories
Is this appeal tax deductible? Yes
Will I receive a receipt for my donation? Yes, automatically sent to you by email when approved.
