A NEW computer offer tailored specifically for the community sector will provide non-profit, education and community groups across Australia with a special low-cost high-quality computer solution for as little as $1499.

The special deal has been negotiated by ourcommunity.com.au, an online resource servicing Australia's 700,000 community groups, and ACER computers, the third biggest supplier of PCs in the world.

The chief executive of ourcommunity.com.au, Dr Rhonda Galbally, said the offer would make it both affordable and convenient for community groups anywhere in Australia to purchase a good-quality computer.

"E-mail and the Internet provide community groups today with opportunities to advance their cause but there are thousands of groups who have not been able to take advantage of it," Ms Galbally said..

Dr Galbally said there were four popular models on offer for the Australian community sector but ourcommunity.com.au had also negotiated special "community" rates for the whole range of Acer computers. Any groups needing to add on extras such as extra memory, printers, bigger screens would also pay lower rates.
