What is this appeal for?

We work to reduce the suffering caused by asbestos related disease.

The diagnosis of an asbestos-related disease usually causes a high level of trauma and stress for both the patient and their family. The counselling and support service provided by the Asbestos Diseases Society of Victoria ensures that people can establish a single, specialised point of contact and speak with a counsellor experienced in the specific issues they want to address. The expertise and resources of ADSVIC in relation to asbestos exposure, asbestos diseases, treatments, support groups, grief counselling and referral to specialist and community services provide a unique service for asbestos disease sufferers and their families.

How will the funds be used?

Funds raised will be used to deliver our direct support services for people with mesothelioma, asbestosis, or asbestos-related lung cancer.

Mesothelioma Support Group
Home and hospital outreach service
