Lion's House Appeal

What is this appeal for?

Lions House Foundation Inc. is looking to build special accommodation to help many more familes needing to be close to loved ones in the Mercy Hospital for Women and Austin Health.

How the funds will be used:

The 'Lions House' will play an important role with the Mercy Hospital for Women, Austin Health and the Repatriation Hospitals when the new facility is built. It will provide support to those families of patients needing longer term accommodation to be near them while in hospital. It will provide accommodation for families from outer suburban, rural and interstate areas.
Travelling long distances, plus the accommodation expense can result in emotional stress and a financial burden for those who want to comfort and support an ill relative or friend. The "Lions House" will remove that added pressure and provide support to these families.

Taking away some of the worry

'Lions House' is being designed to provide our guests with an atmosphere which will comfort and take away a little part of the worry, in an otherwise difficult time. It will allow for both solitude, but more importantly support, in being around other people who understand being in similar situations.

We are planning for 'Lions House' to provide:

30 Bedrooms with en suites
Retreat rooms
Communal Kitchen
Internet Access
Office
Multi Functional Board Room
Entertainment Room
Children's Play Room
Laundry
Store Rooms
BBQ Patio
Car Parking
