The In 2004, the Office of Women's Policy worked with Our Community on a project to improve the capacity of Victorian women to serve on Government Boards and Committees.
As part of the project, seminars designed to increase the capacity and numbers of women on government boards were delivered throughout in Ouyen, Wodonga, Shepparton, Melbourne CBD, Warragul, Ballarat, Hamilton, Horsham, Werribee, Bendigo, Bairnsdale, Craigieburn, Box Hill, Frankston and Geelong.
The seminars were conducted by then-CEO of Our Community Dr Rhonda Galbally, who has more than 20 years experience with a range of boards and committees, along with a representative of the Office of Women's Policy.
The seminar series has now ended, however the accompanying resource kit, comprising a series of help sheets offering practical advice for women interested in board and committee appointments, is still available. The help sheets are available online by clicking here.
