What is this appeal for?

What is CERES?

CERES is a 'not-for-(financial)-profit' community organisation working towards a vision of sustainability involving profound transformation in people & communities. Transformed from a rubbish dump 26 years ago, CERES is a 10 acre community environment park on the Merri Creek in the inner-north of Melbourne, Australia. It is a place for community to gather, experiment, learn & celebrate the sustainability journey.

What does CERES do?

CERES features environmental education programs delivered to thousands of students a year, adult education programs, permaculture & bushfood nursery, organic market, sustainability catering, café & a range of other social enterprises, renewable energy, waste & water demonstration facilities, a range of festivals, events & site groups, & space to simply enjoy the company of others amidst fresh air & an atmosphere of hope & passion for life.

How will the funds be used?
Your funds will drive ongoing innovation & demonstration sustainability initiatives at CERES at a time of rapid growth as society gravitates towards sustainability. This presents plenty of opportunities, & significant hope, which CERES is ideally placed to work with, with your support. For more information about how you can support CERES in exploring some of the more cutting edge opportunities, go to www.ceres.org.au & click on Supporting CERES.
