What is this appeal for?

To assist with the ongoing operations of the cubby house toy library that assists children with special needs

Why are we collecting funds?
Cubby house toy library in the only toy library for children with special needs on the northern beaches of Sydney. Cubby house currently supports over 70 families with children with special needs. Our aim is to assist these families to ensure their children reach their full developmental potential.

As well as the loan of high-quality toys the library's Occupational Therapists provide practical guidance to parents on the best use of the toys that they borrow. The library is a run by a volunteer Management Committee. Each year the committee needs to raise approximately $25,000 in community donations in order to maintain the library service. This is over and above the limited funding provided by the state government and membership fees.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

Cover expenses for ongoing maintenance of the toys
Purchase of new toys for the library
To assist with the costs of administering the library
