The Little Tern Taskforce has facilitated the protection of shorebird breeding habitat and increased breeding success of the threatened species including the Little Tern, the Fairy Penguin, the Pied Oystercatcher and the Hooded Plover in East Gippsland.

Habitat protection and public education have improved the quality of biological diversity and protection on the Victorian coast and provided the Little Terns with a viable breeding future in East Gippsland.

Since the program started the number of Little Terns breeding has doubled.

A community committee and hundreds of volunteers support the Little Tern Taskforce.
