To securely store and display memorabilia and artefacts relevant to the history and development of the Myrtleford district, record and publish historical information and provide facilities for research.

The Intent of Myrtleford & District Historical Society:

Publication of written historical works.

Conduct of special historical events.

Exhibitions of historical material.

Research of past events and family history.

Collection of historical memorabilia and artifacts.

Education programs for school groups.

Conduct of tourist-based museum activities and town tours.

 

Recent Accomplishments of Myrtleford & District Historical Society:

Publication of "Recollections I and II", records of local memoirs.

Open Days to promote additions or new exhibitions.

Travelling exhibitions to local venues.

Capital expenditure to upgrade various display spaces.

Current Activities of Myrtleford & District Historical Society:

Research for publication of "Recollections III".

School and tourist tours.

Interviews to record and publish memoirs of Italian cinema.

Ongoing upgrade of building facilities.

Family research.

Participation in Myrtleford & District Historical Society:

The group is open for everyone to join or participate in.

Meeting Venue:

At "Old School Museum", 29 Elgin Street, Myrtleford.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Meeting Times:

First Thursday of the month at 7.00pm.

Membership Fees:

$10 Adults; $20 Family; $5 Concession/Student
