Mission Statement

Wildlife Victoria is dedicated to the care and protection of Australia’s native wildlife through the pursuit of the highest standards in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and care, with continued commitment to carer support,education and training, wildlife advocacy, research, promotion of partnerships and the preservation of natural ecosystems

The Aims for which Wildlife Victoriais established are:


    • to provide expert care for sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife;
    • to rehabilitate native wildlife in accordance with the relevant government organisations and their instruments and WV policies and guidelines;
    • to provide a wildlife rescue, communication and information network throughout Victoria;
    • to foster community awareness and appreciation of the intrinsic value of native wildlife and its habitats;
    • to encourage and support a high standard of knowledge and expertise within the wildlife shelter system;
    • to remain unbiased in the achievement of our objects;
    • to work in collaboration with like organisations for the benefit of native wildlife and its habitat;
    • To establish and maintain a public fund to be called the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Fund for the specific purpose of supporting the environmental objectives of Wildlife Victoria, and as such to execute the trust deed contained in the schedule to this Constitution. The Fund is established to receive all gifts of money or property for this purpose and any money received because of such gifts must be credited to its bank account. The Fund must not receive any other money or property into its account and it must comply with subdivision 30-E of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

    Recent Accomplishments of Wildlife Victoria Inc:

    In collaboration with the Victoria University of Technology, we have been integral in developing Victoria's first tertiary short course for wildlife rehabilitators.

    Current Activities of Wildlife Victoria Inc:

    We operate Victoria's oldest and most comprehensive wildlife rescue network,  (ph 13 000 94535). The Emergency Phone recieves in excess of 20,000 calls per annum. The emergency phone enables the Victorian community to obtain 24-hour assistance for injured and orphaned wildlife throughout Victoria.

    Participation in Wildlife Victoria Inc:

    Joining the group is restricted to: Volunteer insurance - must be over 14 years old
