Our aim is to provide a venue, and the oppertunity for families with a family member who has adhd to come together and support one another. Our aim is to provide support to families and their children whom have this hidden disability. We also have an information centre where families can access additional information from supporting disability organisations. We also aim to have guest speakers, doctors, phychologists and Respite services available for families. Our aim is to help families and their children have the resources they need, in order to continue to offer the best support and quality of life, for
those who are affected from this misunderstood disability.
The Intent of Adhd Support Group of Narre Warren:
My group exchange experiences with one another and also exchange advice on having a family member with Adhd. We get envolved in tying to better our parent skills which at times involves having a pychologist as a guest speaker. We also get involved in dicussions on how our community and local councils can get involved in offering our support group- support. But most of all we involve ourselfs in getting the best information and support that enables our children to benefit from.
Recent Accomplishments of Adhd Support Group of Narre Warren:
My recent accomplishment was having our first guest speaker. She spoke about Respite care and how to access it. It was most valuable to our members.
My achievements have been the positive feedback recently from families, saying that finally they have somewhere to turn to for support. The smiles on their faces when they are together is what I set out to achieve, by forming this support group.
