Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD in the historic Trades Hall, the Sydney Writers’ Room is a place where serious writers work in “shared solitude” to focus on and develop their craft. Within this space, our member writers experience a unique collaboration process, sharing their ideas, inspirations and experiences. The Sydney Writers’ Room is supported by the NSW Writers’ Centre and UnionsNSW.
Sydney Writers' Room provides affordable space for writers to work in the heart of the Sydney CBD.
In 2012, the Sydney Writers’ Room opened up an exciting second space, the Sydney Writers’ Room Oxford St Labs, at 66 Oxford St Darlinghurst. Generously supported by the City of Sydney, the Oxford St labs have allowed us to establish a permanent video studio setup for the shared use of members involved in web viral and digital video production. This in turn has opened up more space in the original Sydney Writers’ Room at Trades Hall, allowing us to offer a number of additional memberships in 2012.
Joining the group is restricted to: Membership is by application only. Please see our website for application dates.
