What is this appeal for?

One of the greatest tradgedies for any parent is the death of a child - no matter the age of the child or the cause of death. It is the most painful form of loss, and unimaginable plunge into a vortex of suffering and intense emotions.

Each year in QLD many parents experience this trauma. Since our inception in 1985, we helped thousands of families following the death of a child.

Your generosity will allow us to continue providing support to bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents by offering friendship, understanding and through this, helping each other towards a positive resolution of their grief.

How will the funds be used?


Examples:
  • Purchase of library books and other grief related resources.
  • Producing and printing our bi-monthly TCF Queensland Newsletters
  • Printing information brochures on grief
  • Awareness raising activities in the community
  • Conducting an annual seminar on Grief and Bereavement
  • Holding candlelight services
  • Establishing support groups in regional and metropolitan areas of Queensland

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

  • $5.00 will cover the cost of sending a package to a newly bereaved family
  • $500.00 covers the cost of one issue of the newsletter, postage and printing
  • $500.00 will purchase books, magazines and other resources for our library
  • $1,200 will cover the printing of one run of our range of leaflets relating to all facets of grief which are freely available to bereaved parents, their families, friends and professionals
