Kamaruka Education Centre – Board Member

Kamaruka Education Centre (Kamaruka) was founded in 2001 to cater for a unique group of boys whose needs could not be accommodated in the mainstream classroom. Kamaruka offers an alternative academic curriculum for Years 2 to 10 that helps build the student's relationships, self-esteem and social awareness so that they can transition back into mainstream school or further training at TAFE. The school is located across two premises in South Yarra supporting up to 60 students.  The School has a turnover of approximately $2.5M per year.  Kamaruka has a current Board of five and is looking to recruit a new Board member with either a business or educational background and with an interest in specialist education for children with ADHD and/or ASD.

Kamaruka is a registered Australian charity.

The role will require attendance at four board meetings per year and occasional project work in between meetings.
