Kickin4Kids

By: Variety SA

What is this appeal for?
Kickin4Kids is a campaign of Variety, the Children's Charity containing a range of annual activities which raise funds to support Variety's Freedom program which helps children in need gain mobility and independence.

Kickin4Kids has helped hundreds of children in SA gain mobility, freedom, independence and the chance to join in the life of their community through the provision of wheelchairs, leg splints, standing frames, vehicle conversions and wheelchair hoists.

Since its inception...

Since its inception, Kickin4Kids has contributed over $400,000 to Variety's Freedom program.

The first Kickin4Kids program was run in 2007 and featured a Radiothon on FIVEaa which also featured again in 2008. The Schools Kickathon was an additional activity which linked in with the Crows, the Power and the SANFL's junior football programs which saw children participating within their school in a physical exercise to raise money for children in need.

2008 saw the debut of the first fundraising trek, 'Highlight of the Heysen', which not only raised over $135,000 net for children in need, but also aired on Channel 9 in the form of a one hour documentary produced and led by local TV identity, Troy Gray.

In October 2009, 14 people will again raise $10,000 each to take part in Kickin4Kids' second trek on South Australia's idyllic Kangaroo Island - see link at www.charitytvdoco.com.au

As Kickin4Kids is a constantly evolving fundraising program, new concepts are developed each year to assure not only maximum participation, but also maintain the fun in the fundraising in true Variety style.
