Marymead 40th Anniversary Buy-a-Brick for the Brighter Beginnings Appeal

Marymead 40th Anniversary Buy-a-Brick for the Brighter Beginnings Appeal

By: Marymead Child & Family Centre

What is this appeal for?
Through your support, Marymead Child and Family Centre hope to raise at least $300,000 in 2007 for the Brighter Beginnings Appeal. Through encouraging the Canberra community to generously BUY A BRICK for Marymead, we can fund a new wing for our expanding Early Childhood programs for young Canberra children at risk.

These newly established and future programs focus on getting in early in the lives of disadvantaged young children before problems and traumas become entrenched. Research conclusively shows that intervening early allows vulnerable children to have the brightest possible future. For every dollar invested in the early years, our community saves $17 later on in health and welfare costs. Not to mention the difference made in the life of the child!

Buy a Brick:

Make a contribution towards building the new wing - you will make a difference in the life of Canberra children, and your name will be recorded on a special plaque in the new wing. You can contribute to the appeal by 'buying a brick' to the value of:

  • $40
  • $100
  • $400
  • $1000
  • $4000
Or an amount of your choosing! Simply write/type 'Buy a brick' in the comments line when making your online donation so we know you are contributing to the Brighter Beginnings Appeal. Thank you!

How will the funds be used?
Marymead has identified a critical gap in Canberra services helping young children at risk and so has taken the initiative to provide innovative new programs that can change a young child's life and direction. Sadly, as child abuse reports rise, Marymead's current buildings are filled to capacity and we urgently require more space to provide the services the community needs. Please support Marymead's 'Brighter Beginnings' Appeal and make a difference today! Thankyou on behalf of those we care for…

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:
  • Building of new wing
  • Funding existing early childhood programs (Child and Family Counselling, Circle of Security)
  • Establishment of new Early Childhood programs
Is this appeal tax deductible? Yes
