Peter Collett Solo Atlantic Rowing Challenge Supporting Alzheimer's Australia

What is this appeal for?

In December 2007 Peter Collett will single-handedly and without external assistance row approximately 5000 kilometres form Africa to the Caribbean as an entrant in the 5th Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race. He will use this event to raise money for and awareness about Alzheimer's disease.

Through fund raising activities and corporate/individual donations, Peter's target is to raise at least $200,000 dollars for Alzheimer's Australia research. As well as raising funds, the project will be used to raise awareness of the growing problem of Alzheimer's disease, those living with the disease and their families.

How will the funds be used?
100% of the funds donated will go directly to Alzheimer's Australia. A significant percentage of all donations will be immediately directed to fund Alzheimer's research. A proportion of the first $200,000 raised will go towards assisting Peter meet the costs of his project. 100% of all donations received after this point will go towards supporting Alzheimer's research.
