Refugee Aid Appeal

What is this appeal for?

Sanctuary Refugee Foundation raises funds to give direct assistance to refugees (mostly women and children) existing in squalid refugee camps.

How will the funds be used?

The funds will be used to save the lives of refugees, through the Sanctuary Travel Loan Fund.

We sponsor and assist refugees. Those who are fortunate enough to be accepted for an unfunded Australian Special Humanitarian 202 visa often lose their only chance at freedom (and often their lives) due to lack of funds to get to Australia.

SRF provides an interest-free travel loan, and once settled here, the family gradually repays the no-interest loan, over 2 to 3 years. It is then re-cycled to assist another needy family. It works really well, respects peoples dignity, and every dollar given is used over and over again to help others in desperate need.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

Funds are used mainly for the Sanctuary Travel Loan Fund, and then repaid, interest-free to be re-cycled and used again.
A small amount of funding is used to give direct life support to sponsored refugee families who are in urgent need of medical or food aid.
