What is this appeal for?

Southern Cross Kids' Camps is a unique organisation designed not only to alleviate the emotional pain of children aged 7-12 years who are victims of abuse and violence, but we also endeavour to help with the restoration of the individual's self worth.

With over 40,000 substantiated cases of child abuse in Australia annually, it is vital that Southern Cross Kids' Camps are able to continue to change the negative impact abuse has on a child and make a significant difference in their journey toward wholeness. These innocent child victims deserve to be given every opportunity to develop a sense of personal competence, improved social and personal skills as well as assisting them to become resilient, productive members of society, despite the adversity they have encountered.

How will the funds be used?

We are seeking funds to contribute towards the costs associated with operating specialised camps for abused, neglected or abandoned children. Southern Cross Kids' Camps provide a week of fun activities designed to build a sense of achievement, confidence and self esteem in child victims of abuse. All participants (children & volunteers) attend camp at no charge. All finances need to be raised through fundraising activities, financial or in-kind donations and child sponsorship.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

$30.00 - will help fill a special birthday box for one child
$100.00 - the cost per day for one child at camp
$500.00 - sponsors one child for a week at camp

Is this appeal tax deductible? Yes

Will I receive a receipt for my donation? Yes, though it will be delayed as it is sent by Southern Cross Kids' Camps
