Stroke Youth Awareness Appeal
By: Stroke Association of Queensland Inc

What is this appeal for?
Stroke is a medical emergency, it can strike at any age, and prevention is the key. 48,000+ people are affected by Stroke each year in Australia, more than 8000 being Queenslanders. In order to continue our work in raising AWARENESS about stroke in the community, WE NEED YOUR HELP.

How will the funds be used?

To provide information about Stroke to our youth in the form of specially designed packages, to protect them from future strokes.

Funds raised will also go towards the provision of Stroke Information kits, which are available to members of the public at no cost.

Why Stroke awarness is vital

  • Stroke kills more women in Australia than Breast Cancer
  • Stroke is not something that only happens to older people. Young people and even children have stroke.
  • Stroke is the greatest cause of disability in Australia
  • Stroke impacts on the lives of the whole family of the survivor
  • Stroke causes a number of changes in the life of the survivor, creating difficulties in many facets of life.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:
  • Developing information and awareness videos
  • Provision of a trained speaker
  • Develop youth oriented literature
Is this appeal tax deductible? Yes
Will I receive a receipt for my donation? Yes, though it will be delayed as it is sent by Stroke Association of Queensland Inc
