Stroke Association of Victoria Appeal

What is this appeal for?

Stroke is the third largest killer of Australians after cancer and heart and accounts for the greatest number of disabilities affecting approx 13,000 Victorians per year.

Please make a donation to help us fund programs which will enable the community to become more aware of the dangers of stroke and to provide support for stroke survivors and their families.

How will the funds be used?

To provide counselling and support facilities to stroke survivors, their families and carers. Eg. telephone support, hospital & home visits, brochures, seminars, support group activities.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

Telephone Helpline & Email Communication
Support Self-help Stroke Survivor and Carers' Groups
Community Education - Stroke Week and Brochures, Resource material
Website - SAV contact point and public education
Hospital and Home Visits (where possible)
