1. Overview

The course you are enrolled in comprises intensive group workshop days and follow-up tasks which are designed to help you to apply the course content, tools and concepts, and for the facilitators to assess if you have completed all of the course requirements

The workshop themes are:

The course schedule, follow-up assessments and project work are carefully designed to enable you to do so, and - importantly - to enable you also to apply your learning. .

To successfully complete the course and be awarded the qualification you must demonstrate competency against all of these 13 modules. The course schedule, follow-up assessments and project work are carefully designed to enable you to do so, and - importantly - to enable you also to apply your learning.

When you have successfully completed and submitted the assessments your work will be reviewed and you will be given some feedback, or extra guidance if it is not quite up to the mark. We will do everything we can to assist you to complete the course

It is important to understand that in this type of program absolute right and wrong answers are not always required as your own circumstances will differ to those of other participants.

2. Learning Materials

Your workbook includes extra learning materials covering most of the course requirements. Learning guides include questions and exercises to assist you to apply ideas and concepts, and to clarify learning.

Other learning materials are provided during the workshops and of course many are readily available online at www.ourcommunity.com.au.

3. Assessment Tasks

3.1. Workshop

The workshops comprise instruction, discussion, examples, case studies, role plays and personal experiences. Your active participation is expected though you will not be required to do anything that makes you too uncomfortable.

3.2. Written

The written assessments comprise questions and review projects. These are included in your workbook notes in hard copy and will be emailed to you following the workshops in MS Office formats.

The questions generally cover materials covered in the workshops, and some may have been completed in workshop or learning guide activities

The projects cover the four workshop themes above and give you some scope to apply the course in real world situations. The recommended depth of the submission is also included e.g. project one recommends no more than 2 x A4 pages.

3.3. Other

There is an opportunity to apply for recognition of prior learning and experience if you desire. It is worth noting, however, that the governance qualification does not always readily cross match with other similar management qualifications. Please talk with your facilitator about this if you want to know more.

4. Submitting Assessments

The preferred method is to email your completed assessments to: governance@bsilearning.com.au.

Please save your file with your name in the title prior to emailing. For example, the file name might be "governance assessments John Citizen.doc". This will help us to keep track of your files. Use also the "read receipt" function in your email so you can be sure it has been received. Other arrangements can be made if required.
