What is this appeal for?

Strathdon Community is a non-profit organisation providing care and support services to the frail aged. Residential care is provided to nearly 300 residents. The laundry uses approximately 5,000,000 litres of water per year which is equivalent to two Olympic sized swimming pools. A reverse osmosis unit along with tanks and plumbing to complement the current ozone generator has the potential to increase water saving to 100%. This will also save approximately 139,000 kilograms of green house gases (equating to 7.5 hectares of rainforest)

How will the funds be used?

To purchase and install a reverse osmosis unit and water tanks to reduce the potable water use in the laundry by 100%

Laundry, which provides services to all residents in the nursing home and hostels.
