Giving Clothes, Furniture & Food

Giving clothes and furniture is a great way of helping out the Whitehorse community. Whether it is your personal clothes, furniture or donations of food, these donations can make a great difference to an individual or organisation.

RSPCA Victoria Opportunity Shops

How to Donate:
Goods can be taken directly to our opportunity shops. In the Whitehorse region, we currently have 2 Opportunity shops located in Burwood Heights Shopping Centre - 2 Burwood Hwy, Burwood East (located opposite the RSPCA).

Giving Furniture:

Eastern Emergency Relief Network Inc

How to Donate:
Furniture and other household essentials in good condition including whitegoods + other electrical applicances, linen, blankets and non perishable food. These may be delivered to the warehouse between 9am and 1pm any weekday. Arrangements can also be made to be collected by phoning 9874 8433 between these hours. Please note that the collection areas are the City of Whitehorse and abutting municipalities, that is Monash, Booroondara, Manningham, Knox and Maroondah.

Giving Food:


East Burwood Centre

Service provided:
Provision of emergency relief to people on low incomes who are facing financial hardship.Food and food vouchers are provided as well as information and referral to help with the contributing factors relating to the current financial crisis.

If you would like to donate food, people are welcome to drop off food between 9.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Other times by special arrangement. Vehicles can park close to the back door to unload and we have a trolley for carrying heavy goods. Volunteers will assist and people need to make themselves known at the reception office.

Contact 98033400 and speak with the volunteers at reception if you want to make a special arrangement otherwise please turn up unannounced.

It is possible that some items can be collected. Contact reception and we can arrange for a volunteer to pick up. ( larger quantities preferable for this.) Pick up may not be immediate but would be arranged for a mutually agreeable time.

Eligibility:
People living in the City of Whitehorse in the suburbs located between Highbury Rd and Canterbury Rd (Vermont/ Vermont Sth, Forest Hill, Blackburn South, Burwood /Burwood East, Box Hill South, Blackburn Sth, Surrey Hills).
People should have a current Centrelink or Health Care Card.
