Centenary of Women's Suffrage

What is this appeal for?

2008 is the Centenary of Women's Suffrage. Women's Health Goulburn North East would like to celebrate by conducting a number of forums for women in the Hume Region with speakers and activities that inform and educate about the historical aspects of the suffrage movement and challenge current beliefs around gender and equity. Included in the forum will be a display of various forms of art work from young women which illustrates the historical facts, and presents challenges still being faced in 2007.

How will the funds be used?
To develop and implement exhibition/exhibitions which tell the story of women's struggles, historic and present, to be accepted as equals

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

Engage a Researcher to research historical facts to be displayed.
Engage Speakers, Artists and Graphic Designers.
Administration to organize, promote and run project.
