Wunan Foundation General Appeal

What is this appeal for?

Wunan Foundation empowers Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley to build a stronger future by helping individuals and communities through training, jobs, leadership and sustainable economic development.

How will the funds be used?
Your donation will help us to continue a range of integrated activities to support local Aboriginal people, including:

Job support and career mentoring to encourage independent income-earning, self-reliance and self-esteem;
Tailored business and governance support for other Indigenous organisations to help them deliver strong, functional leadership and more effective services for their respective communities; and
For strategic investment in activities that Governments typically don't fund yet are essential to growing the capacity of Aboriginal people to move forward now and for future generations.

Key areas of expenditure for funds donated:

Job Pathways: tailored recruitment, training, job placement, case management support and mentoring for Aboriginal people - in partnership with Kimberley Group Training and local industry.
Something Concrete: a new and unique 'job creation' project building houses and making jobs in the East Kimberley - in partnership with Beacon Foundation.
Wunan House: the first and only hostel in the East Kimberley catering especially for young Aboriginal people pursuing education, training and employment opportunities.
Wunan Business Services: sharing our expertise to provide a range of tailored services to help remote Indigenous community organisations improve efficiency, effectiveness and governance performance.
