Giving Clothes and Furniture
Recycling clothes and furniture is a great way of helping out the Yarra community.
Whether it is your personal clothes or donations of furniture,
these donations can make a great difference to an individual or organisation.

There are 165 family stores located all across Australia. If you have any furniture which you feel is too good to simply throw away you may bring them to your nearest family store. You can also arrange for items of furniture to be collected through the Salvation Army Family Stores home collection service by ringing 13 16 40, or filling in the form at: http://www.salvationarmy.org.au/FamilyStores/booking.asp

Family Stores: Assist the community by providing reasonably priced, quality, used clothing, furniture and other household goods; Provide free goods to families referred by a welfare officer of The Salvation Army Family Support Services; Contribute to the protection of the environment by recycling waste and providing industry with recycled cleaning materials.

The Brotherhood of St Laurence has over 26 retail stores in Melbourne that sell donated goods, new goods and furniture. These shops help us: reach out to local communities, offering clothing and other household essentials at low prices; and fund our work for an Australia free of poverty.

| How you can Donate: |
There are 95 Vinnies Shops / Centres of Charity throughout Victoria where you can donate goods or you can deposit items in your local St Vinnies clothing bin. Call 1800 621 349 for details or to arrange for goods to be collected. Your donation of any of the following items will be greatly appreciated: Clothing, Furniture, Household Goods, Bric-a-brac, Toys, Blankets and Non perishable Food items. Some of our larger Shops also accept donations of Whitegoods.

Families and individuals in need are given donated items free of charge while surplus items are sold in Vinnies Shops to raise funds to help St Vincent de Paul Society's good works.
