OI4.3 Understanding and using Aboriginal land practices ? A real-world approach to adopting traditional practices

Monday 30 August - 10:00am-12:00pm

Aboriginal people possess cultural and environmental traditions and knowledge that can help us better care for the lands and waters placed in our care. In this practical session you?ll get the opportunity to hear from DPIE experts working in this area, and learn how to apply some of these lessons to your reserve?s particular circumstances. Opportunities will be provided for CLMs to interact and ask questions during the session and learn about practices such as fire programs, weed and feral animal control, protecting threatening species, and safeguarding cultural heritage sites. The session will also explore ways to safeguard Aboriginal cultural heritage values and ideas for working to ensure two-way knowledge engagement, trust building, respect and mutuality This online interactive workshop builds on the knowledge gained from the ?Introduction to Aboriginal Land Care Practices? webinar. Please note: Interactive Workshops are limited to 15 registrations / attendees
