AMSANT aims to improve the health of Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory by promoting and extending local Aboriginal community control over primary health care services to Aboriginal people.

The Intent of Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory:

Advocacy for improved Aboriginal community controlled health services.
Support of Aboriginal Health Workers, especially in remote areas.
Culturally appropriate training of GPs working in Aboriginal communities.
Policy development relating to the extension and enhancement of Aboriginal community controlled health services.
Liaison with government and non-government funding sources.

Recent Accomplishments of Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory:

Release of the one-million-word, on-line AMSANT Administration Manual to assist Aboriginal Health workers and Administrators in the delivery of primary health care to Aboriginal people.
The appointment of new Chairman, John Paterson, and the hosting of successful meetings of our members in Darwin.
