To help people in the community improve their skills in technology, language, literacy and numeracy by delivering inclusive education at no or low cost and providing quality support.
To empower individuals to become confident and independent learners so they can gain employment, progress to further study if they wish or just manage their own independence.
Education, Training and Employment issues - eg engage community members in life long education and training which enriches their lives. Some students have obtained traineeships, have had their skills recognized which has enabled them to move into paid employment or undertake voluntary work.
Community Building – by fostering and maintaining an extensive network of business leaders, community organizations, local councils, to help them support their clients where needed.
Family – assisting families to provide support to their children/grandchildren who attend school and are struggling with literacy and numeracy.
Health - promoting healthy ageing by encouraging lifelong learning and volunteering.
Volunteering – recruiting and supporting volunteers
Disability – assisting those with disabilities to acquire basic life-skills
Individuals whose first language is not English – teaching them conversational English and assisting them in obtaining their learners drivers permit so they can integrate into the community.
Examples of student successes are numerous. Solutions has been instrumental in not only providing literacy education but helping turn lives around.
Solutions Adult Learning Center was nominated for a community group of the year MaroochyShire Council Australia Day Award as recognition of its commitment and outstanding achievement to improve literacy and numeracy skills in the community.
Solutions Adult Learning Centre received a Volunteer Small Equipment grant from the Department of Family and Community Services.
Due to an increase in our activities and demands on space available our headquarters have been recently renovated.
The Coordinator of Solutions Adult Learning Centre was recently requested to be a consultant for literacy and numeracy accredited national curriculum at a Queensland Adult Community Education Forum.
In response to community demand solutions adult learning centre has extended its training programs to include non accredited lifestyle related courses eg personal financial management, cooking.
