AIM: Teachers Across Borders Australia will work together with Cambodian teachers to deliver high quality professional development workshops to and with Khmer teachers within the guidelines established with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport Cambodia.

These workshops support Khmer teachers to develop further their teaching strategies and subject content knowledge. This program aims to improve the learning experiences of Cambodian students from preschool to senior secondary school.

Raising the standards of teaching raises the standard and quality of education and enables children to become more effective citizens of Cambodian society.

The Intent of Teachers Across Borders:

Volunteer  Australian teachers run workshops for Cambodian teachers over an six day period a number of times each year, including January and July in various locations in Cambodia. Overseas teachers also join the workshop program as presenters. The workshops are designed in conjunction with The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport as part of their five year strategic plan. They provide hands on experience to teachers and educational administrators in current educational practice. Teachers are provided with resources and teaching strategies as well as support and encouragement.
