Making a global contribution to increasing the wellbeing and economic health of young women.

The 10thousandgirl Campaign is a social program bringing finance to life for 10,000 young women around Australia and setting a ripple effect in motion to raise $1million towards a microfinance program to help women globally.

The Intent of 10thousandgirl Campaign:

Our purpose is to help millions of young women lead inspired, mindful and self-funded lives.

We do this through providing:

    • One hour School and Community Talks

    • One day Life Planning Workshops

    • A 12 month interactive Personal Finance Program, delivered through bookclub-like GIGs (Girl Investment Groups)

    • An Online Resource Hub including a Lil Black Book, an online directory of local financial service professionals

    • Microloans for women to create new income streams

    Recent Accomplishments of 10thousandgirl Campaign:

      • Effective programs developed with the support of over 20 high profile finance and coaching professionals, 200 young women involved over 2010 pledged over $803,000 in extrasavings over the 6 months after their workshop

      • Grassroots movement with 98% of participants saying they would recommend it to a friend and over 150 volunteers working in towns and cities across Australia with events booked into October 2011

      • Private industry support shown through the ING DIRECT and Napoleon Perdis series of Life Planning Workshops held in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth over 2010

      • Popular in the media attracting TV coverage including Channel Ten News, Sky News, The Circle, The Morning Show, ABC and commercial radio interviews, articles published in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Fairfax finance blog and Life&Style section, Women’s Health Magazine, Madison Magazine, Australia Today Magazine and a number of widely read blogs such as Daily Addict

      • Government backed by MP Kate Ellis and Office for Women

      • National relationships developing with programs being delivered in conjunction with NSW Drought Support Network, Queensland Rural Women’s Network, WIRE and Australian Government advisory group on women’s economic issues, Security 4 Women

      • Social enterprise model developed with the School of Social Entrepreneurs

      • Board of Directors formed and governance reviewed in February 2011
