As a “not for profit” community organisation, Northern Children's Network Inc. (NCN) is responsible to a Board made up of a diverse composition of volunteer community members with varying skills-sets, knowledge and experience. The role of the Board is to provide governance and strategic leadership including, but not limited to, responsibility for legal and financial decisions, strategic planning and assessment processes, review and implementation of governance policies and procedures, and evaluate the performances of NCN Directors (Senior Leadership Team).
The Board is looking for people with one or more of these skills:
Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings (at present, last Thursday of each month) at 6.00pm for about two to three hours, special meeting(s) and the organisation’s Annual General Meeting. Members are also expected to commit to reviewing materials including monthly financial statements and reports, supporting/mentoring of organisational staff, and assisting with marketing and management when needed.
