We are seeking a finance, marketing or legal professional to join our Board of Governance as a volunteer Non-Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity for an emerging leader to contribute to the financial sustainability and strategic direction of a growing not-for-profit higher education provider.
We warmly invite interested individuals to reach out to our Chair, Judy Kent (judy.kent@nioda.org.au), to learn more about the role and the organisation. We particularly encourage expressions of interest from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander individuals, persons who come from culturally diverse backgrounds, individuals with a disability, and those who identify as LGBTQI+. We also welcome inquiries from first-time Directors.
The Organisation – NIODA
The National Institute of Organisation Dynamics Australia (NIODA) is a registered charity and institute of higher education. We offer post-graduate degrees in the field of systems psychodynamics, including a PhD and Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation Dynamics). Our courses are accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). NIODA also provides leadership workshops, management consulting services and coaching.
NIODA is based in Naarm (Melbourne) on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, but serves students across Australia and around the globe. More information can be found on our website: www.nioda.org.au.
The Team – Board of Governance
NIODA’s Board of Governance is made up of nine volunteers with a diverse range of skills in management consulting, corporate governance, public service, for-purpose leadership, finance and law. We are a collegial group that encourages collaboration, welcomes contribution and provides space for reflection. We have an excellent relationship with the leadership team of NIODA (including the CEO) and academic staff.
The Board of Governance meets online at least four times per year. We also host an annual in-person Board retreat and strategy day, which helps us to connect with each other and with NIODA’s broader stakeholder community.
As a new Director, you’ll be expected to attend Board meetings and participate on one of the Board’s committees (Finance and Risk, Academic Board of Governance, or Board of Governance – Learning Activities).
We aim to appoint new members by May, although we will be flexible for the right candidate.
Please contact our Chair, Judy Kent (judy.kent@nioda.org.au), to learn more about the role and the organisation by 26 April 2024. Feel free to include a short bio or CV.
Once you have filled in the following form, your details will be emailed directly to National Institute of Organisation Dynamics Australia (NIODA).
They will contact you on the telephone number and/or email address you provide. We will not disclose your details to anyone apart from the recruiting organisation.
