The Strata Community Association (Vic) is seeking a forward-thinking leader to join our Board as an appointed Director. This is a unique opportunity to elevate your professional profile while guiding the strata sector through a time of rapid technological transformation. As our AI and Cybersecurity Director, you’ll play a key role in steering the industry toward a secure and innovative future.

 

This is a strategic opportunity to help guide SCA (Vic)’s approach to emerging technologies, with a focus on the transformative impact of generative AI across the strata management industry.

 

This position will empower the Board to proactively navigate the AI revolution—ensuring our member organisations harness innovation while maintaining ethical standards, robust data security, and effective risk management.

 

About SCA (Vic)Strata Community Association Victoria Incorporated (SCA (Vic)) is the peak body representing professionals in the Victorian strata sector. We support Owners Corporation Managers, suppliers, and industry partners through government advocacy, education, community engagement, and professional development.

 

This is a voluntary position (unremunerated), suited to a senior professional ready to make a meaningful contribution to the future of the strata industry.

 

Key Contributions

  • Identify industry-specific applications for AI that could revolutionise property administration, compliance, and communication
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for integrating generative AI into strata management practices
  • Assess how emerging AI models will reshape owner expectations and service delivery
  • Guide the board in anticipating industry disruption from AI tools and preparing adaptive strategies
  • Advise on ethical frameworks and governance for AI implementation in member services
  • Develop security protocols to safeguard member data as AI systems become more integrated

 

Qualifications

  • Forward-thinking perspective on generative AI applications in service organisations
  • Strategic understanding of AI's industry-transforming potential
  • Strong grasp of data security and ethical implications of AI deployment
  • Ability to translate complex technological trends into practical industry applications
  • Previous or current experience as a Board member

 

As a Board Member, your responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the strategic direction and annual business planning
  • Overseeing risk, compliance, finance, and governance frameworks
  • Actively participating in Board and Sub-Committee meetings
  • Maintaining accountability to members, the law, and the Association’s Constitution
  • Supporting the CEO and promoting a culture of innovation, transparency, and ethical leadership
  • Volunteering time for key events and networking on behalf of the Association

Time commitment required:

  • Board meetings – 1.5-2.0 hours online meeting approximately 8-10 times annually;
  • Advisory Committee member - each board participates in at least one of the five advisory committees that make recommendations to the Board – 1-1.5 hours online meeting approximately 6 times annually; and
  • In between meeting electronic ballots and matters (reading and feedback) for Board and Advisory Committee – approximately 5-10 hours per month collectively.
