About Plant Health Australia
Plant Health Australia (PHA) is the trusted coordinator of the Australian plant biosecurity system. We bring expertise, knowledge and stakeholders together to generate solutions that improve biosecurity outcomes to ensure the system is future-oriented and solutions-focused.
In a rapidly changing biosecurity environment, PHA has a critical role to play in working closely with industry, government and associated stakeholders to reduce the threat and impact of plant pest incursions and protect Australia’s plant industries, market access, environment and community.
To find out more about PHA, please visit our website https://www.planthealthaustralia.com.au/
PHA is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee and is the lead national coordinating body for plant biosecurity. The company was formed in 2000 to facilitate and manage improvements in biosecurity policy and practice and to build capacity to respond to plant pest emergencies.
The company is owned by its members, comprising the Australian government, all state and territory governments, all major plant industries and a range of other industry partner organisations.
PHA invites applications from persons wishing to be considered for appointment as Non-Executive Directors of the company.
As a skills-based board, candidates with extensive skills and experience in at least one of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- primary producer/grower experience
- financial and economic acumen
- sound understanding of governance, as it relates to risk, compliance, and financial and human resource management.
All candidates must have a genuine interest in, and a broad understanding of the plant biosecurity industry.
Interviewees will be required to verify all academic qualifications and industry accreditations.
