Help lead this exceptional and highly regarded organisation through potentially challenging times ahead for this community sector….

What began 40+ years ago as a local centre offering support and social activities has evolved into a leading provider of aged care, wellness and community support services. It’s mission has remained the same: to support older adults in living independently, staying connected and leading meaningful lives.

For staff and clients alike, this has long been considered a very happy and positive organisation, where everything done is done well. Recently, this vibrant organisation has focused on consolidation and remains stable.

The Board has been refreshed over recent years …

with new members bringing clinical, health and age care sector expertise. The opportunity now is to commingle those capabilities with other essential skills brought by a new, commercially astute Chair and a market proven Director, ideally with entrepreneurial vision.

This will add the strengths needed to take a more penetrating view of governance practices. And, in the process, supply the strategic contemporary leadership essential to steering the organisation through upcoming waves of change. As the new Chair, you don’t need direct clinical experience but it will be helpful if you have an understanding of clinical care environments. As the Board Director, current clinical experience would be advantageous.

As Chair you will need to be a seasoned and proven facilitator, able to calmly accept different shades of opinion among Directors and Management. You’ll tactfully defuse potential areas of difference, build strong synergy and generally do all you can to help this excellent business maintain its strong spirit, generous heart and invaluable teamwork.

And since its strong record of creating and implementing programs built around client participation, capacity building and innovation, your experience in some form of community service delivery is a must.  Along with that experience, you need to bring excellent decision-making skills, the ability to analyse need, measure risk, allocate resources and meet organisational aims/targets within a community services context.

But whether you apply to be a Director or take the role of Chair, the one overarching attribute that we’re hoping for is your positive approach to making absolutely sure that the quality and compliance goals of this amazing organisation are continually met and exceeded.
