Information about CLO and the vacant position
Community Living Options was established in 1982 by a group of parents on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Since that time CLO has grown and operates from 3 geographical regions, with offices in Victor Harbor, Edwardstown and Adelaide. Our services are innovative and diverse. We support people with high and complex disabilities and mental health issues.
We are a vision and mission driven. Our vision is that ‘people with disabilities experience a great life’. And our mission is ‘to help create your positive life journey supporting your dreams, your choices and your individuality’.

We are a volunteer Board, we are seeking to recruit members with expertise in legal, risk, finance, marketing or the disability sector to join our dynamic and diverse Board.
Community Living Options (CLO) is currently looking for additional board members. If you:
- Are 18 years or older; and
- Are eligible to serve as the Director of a Company.
- Have an interest in or lived experience of disability
- Believe your values align yourself with the values of CLO
The responsibilities of a CLO Director are;
- Attendance at scheduled Board of Directors meetings every 2 months and the annual general meeting each year (November);
- Attendance at scheduled bi-monthly meetings for Subcommittee Members
- You provide input into the work of CLO (as requested by fellow Directors and the CEO);
- You respond timely to CLO communications as required; and
- You positively promote the organisation and its work.
The people we are seeking will have an interest in the not for profit charity sector, an understanding of and experience in governance, ability to relate to a diverse group of stakeholders and a willingness to help lead and grow the organisation in a sound, diligent, caring and sustainable way, providing a caring, non-judgmental and professional environment for our clients.
Appointments to the Board of Directors (through election at the Annual General Meeting or directly by the Board as vacancies arise) are for an initial 2 year period with the potential for a further 2 year terms.
