Board Members for West Moreton Health Foundation

West Moreton Health Foundation (formerly Ipswich Hospital Foundation) is seeking expressions of interest for two positions on its volunteer Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of a foundation dedicated to improving health outcomes in the West Moreton region.

About West Moreton Health Foundation

The Foundation is committed to supporting health innovation, community engagement, and partnerships that enhance the well-being of individuals and families in the region, including the Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim, and Lockyer Valley communities. We fund and deliver the vital extras to improve patient care and comfort, including:

  • Medical equipment
  • Enhancing patient and support person care
  • Health promotion
  • Research and innovation.

 Board Member Opportunity

We are seeking two motivated individuals to join our Board of Directors. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Medical Research: Candidates with a proven track record in advancing medical knowledge or healthcare practices are highly desirable.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong business skills, including strategic planning, financial oversight, or market analysis, with experience in driving successful ventures and navigating commercial landscapes.
  • Social Enterprise Operations: Knowledge and experience in leading or managing social enterprises, focusing on community impact, sustainability, and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As a board member, you will:

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight per the Foundation’s vision and purpose.
  • Collaborate with fellow board members to develop initiatives that address identified priorities of the foundation.
  • Support fundraising and community engagement efforts to bolster resources and partnerships.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Foundation, fostering connections with stakeholders and advocating for its objectives.

Desirable Attributes

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • A commitment to advancing health outcomes for communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to build consensus and partnerships.
  • Leadership experience in relevant fields.
  • Not-for-profit board experience.
