Targeting:

Banyule Support and Information Centre (BANSIC) is seeking an enthusiastic person to join its Committee of Management (Board) as Treasurer. This is an opportunity to contribute to a well-regarded local organisation and to be part of a team committed to empowering people affected by disadvantage and inequality in our community.The committee is active and collaborative; and has a clear strategic direction for the organisation.

The role of Treasurer is pivotal to the ongoing success of the organisation; it is a busy, hands-on role. The Treasurer ensures the sound financial management of the organisation and compliance with legal obligations. And provides financial oversight, undertakes accounts receivable and payable and leads the budgeting process.

The successful applicant will be familiar with community organisations, and will have experience in financial management, accounting, bookkeeping or a related field.

Applicants must be willing to attend the organisation service sites on a regular basis and have some availability during business hours as well as after hours and weekends. The Treasurer role cannot be performed remotely.   

All office bearer positions are elected at the Annual General Meeting. We are opening applications now to provide a pathway to membership ahead of the AGM in October 2025.

A detailed position description is available on request. The successful applicant will be able to contribute a few hours each week to dedicate to the role and to participating in the committee and the life of the organisation. The Treasurer has additional end of year tasks.

The current Treasurer is leaving after 7 years of incredible service and has offered to provide a full handover to the incoming Treasurer.
