Role Summary:

As a Board Member of Green Connect Farm Ltd., you will provide governance oversight, strategic direction, and ensure financial and operational integrity. Board members collaborate closely to help achieve our objectives as a social enterprise and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Direction & Leadership:

• Contribute to the strategic planning process, ensuring alignment with Green Connect’s mission and long-term sustainability.
• Collaborate with fellow board members and the executive team to establish strategic goals and monitor progress.

1. Governance & Compliance:

• Ensure Green Connect complies fully with legal, regulatory, and fiduciary obligations as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
• Maintain high standards of corporate governance and contribute actively to policy development and procedural oversight.
• Evaluate and manage organisational risks to safeguard our reputation and interests.

1. Financial Oversight:

• Review and approve annual budgets and financial reports to maintain organisational stability and sustainability.
• Provide strategic guidance on financial management, funding initiatives, and resource allocation.

1. Advocacy & Community Engagement:

• Serve as an ambassador, enhancing Green Connect’s profile and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders.
• Utilise professional networks to support fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.

1. Organisational Support:

• Offer mentorship and governance insights to the executive team, fostering best practices in sustainability, social enterprise operations, and organisational governance.
• Actively engage in board meetings, participate in committees, and support board-driven initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in nonprofit governance, strategic management, or social enterprise.
• Proven knowledge in financial oversight, budgeting, audit procedures, and compliance.
• Previous experience serving on nonprofit boards or advisory committees.
• Strong understanding of governance requirements for a Company Limited by Guarantee.
