Caladenia Dementia Care Board Chair (Voluntary)

Lead a values-driven Board making a difference in the lives of people living with dementia.

Caladenia Dementia Care is seeking an experienced, motivated and values-aligned individual to step into the role of Board Chair. This is a unique opportunity to guide a committed, skilled and collaborative voluntary Board, and to shape the governance and strategic direction of a much-loved local organisation.

Founded in 1983, Caladenia provides dementia-specific social support to people living with dementia — including those with younger onset dementia — and to people receiving Home Care Packages. Our programs foster connection, dignity, and purpose for participants and their families.

We have a strong reputation, a solid financial foundation, and an inclusive and welcoming culture. Our Board works closely with our experienced CEO to navigate sector reforms and expand our reach.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. Skills and experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:

  • Board Chair or Committee Chair with strategic leadership and governance experience
  • Aged care, health or not-for-profit sectors
  • Business development or strategic growth
  • Commitment to person-centred care and community-based approaches.

The Board meets every second month in person (Mooroolbark), with additional engagement between meetings as needed. This is a voluntary role, and a substantial handover with the current Chair will be provided.

Help us shape a future where people living with dementia are supported with dignity, connection and care.
