This is a rewarding opportunity to join the governance body of a community service organisation based in the Caboolture region. Connections Inc is a not-for-profit that provides individual support, support coordination and allied health services for people living with disability or mental health needs. Connections mission is to create a better life for people living with disability. We achieve this by offering a variety of sustainable services that support people to make fulfilling lifestyle choices. Experience in the disability sector is not necessary. We are seeking new general members for the Board of Governance.

Community members with the following skills or experience are encouraged to apply.

• Ability to support leadership, development and strategic direction for community organisations.

• Legal issues related to the governance of community organisations

• Policy development and reviews

• Strategic planning and evaluation processes

• Marketing, public relations and promotion for community organisations

• Knowledge of/experience with financial management or accounting, or experience preparing and managing budgets for community organisations.

• Business management

• The National Disability Insurance Scheme

The Board usually meets online via Teams every six weeks with minimal essential communication occurring via email between meetings. Candidates should be prepared to offer a minimum of 3 hours per month towards Board of Governance responsibilities and attend at least 6 meetings per year.
