About us

Noah’s Ark is a not-for-profit community organisation providing early childhood services to children with disabilities and additional needs. We are the largest early childhood intervention service operating in Victoria and operate in NSW and the ACT.

Board members

The Board plays a critical and affective governance role in supporting Noah’s Ark Inc to achieve its purpose and vision, safeguard its values, and guide strategic development. As a member of the Board, this position provides independent oversight, contributes to decision-making, and ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards.

The Board currently requires skilled and experienced professionals in the

  • Fundraising
  • Marketing and Brand Management
  • Information Technology
  • Governance
  • Early Childhood Sector 

to broaden the Board’s diverse leadership and expertise to continue to drive the organisation’s purpose and build on its Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities

Leverage networks and influence: Draw on networks and sector knowledge to connect Noah’s Ark Inc with individuals, organisations, and partners who can support the organisation’s mission through funding, collaboration, or advocacy.

Contribute to sound governance: Participate in board meetings and contribute to board discussions with independent, informed, and constructive input. Uphold high standards of governance, accountability, and ethical conduct.

Ensure compliance and risk management: Support oversight of the organisation’s compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and governance standards. Contribute to the oversight of risk management frameworks, ensuring appropriate systems are in place to manage strategic, financial, operational, and reputational risks.

Support executive leadership: Provide support and constructive challenge to the CEO. Contribute to CEO evaluation, performance monitoring, and succession planning.

Provide strategic oversight: Actively contribute to the development, review, and implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with Noah’s Ark’s purpose and vision.

About you

  • Proven experience in in the not-for-profit or government sectors.
  • Previous experience on a board or similar governance body, ideally in the not-for-profit or community services sector.
  • Ability to think strategically, with a focus on long-term goals 
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to influence and motivate others in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • A passion for diversity, equity and inclusion and a willingness to contribute to fostering an inclusive Board environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with public speaking, media relations or presenting to diverse audiences is highly desirable.
  • High ethical standards, integrity and accountability. A passion and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
