Are you an experienced professional with a passion for community service and strong skills in governance and organisational oversight? The Spiers Centre is seeking a committed individual to join our Board of Management as an Ordinary Board Member in a voluntary capacity.

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute your expertise to a well-established not-for-profit organisation that supports individuals and families through financial counselling, emergency relief and community development programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic decision-making and organisational governance
  • Review and interrogate reports, including financial statements 
  • Assist in policy development and compliance oversight
  • Support fundraising initiatives and stakeholder engagement (desirable)

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in governance, policy drafting, and financial report analysis
  • Understands the responsibilities of board membership in the not-for-profit sector
  • Can offer sound judgement, critical thinking, and collaborative leadership
  • Is committed to the mission and values of The Spiers Centre

Previous board experience is highly regarded, but not essential. 

Commitment

  • Attendance at monthly Board meetings (held in Perth)
  • Approx. 4–6 hours per month, including meeting preparation and occasional subcommittee involvement
