Desert Knowledge Australia (DKA) is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) for appointment to its Board of Directors.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to DKA’s role as a catalyst for knowledge, innovation, and partnerships in desert and remote Australia.

About DKA

DKA works to:

  • Support desert communities to thrive through innovation, research, and collaboration.
  • Drive solutions for desert sustainability, including in energy, water, climate, workforce development, and economic growth.
  • Build partnerships across community, industry, and government.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking Board members who can bring skills, experience, and commitment in areas such as:

  • Governance and leadership
  • Aboriginal culture and community development
  • Education, training, and workforce development
  • Remote service delivery and regional engagement
  • Renewable energy, climate adaptation, and sustainability
  • Business, finance, law, or risk management
  • Economic development and innovation

We strongly encourage nominations from Aboriginal people, women, younger leaders, and people with diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility

To be eligible for nomination or membership on the Board, you need to be a member of DKA’s society of participants by joining the DKA Network mailing list. (Refer to s13 (2) and s14 of the DKA Act 2003)

To submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) for DKA Board Membership, please complete the online form by following this link.

Please ensure you include a current resume or CV (maximum 3 pages) as part of your submission.By submitting this EOI, you acknowledge that a police check may be required as part of the application process
