South West Community Transport are looking for 3 energetic, community minded people to join our board of Directors. The board is responsible for overseeing our organisations strategic direction, governance, and performance to protect the interests of its stakeholders. Key duties include hiring and evaluating the EO, approving budgets, setting company-wide governance policies, ensuring legal and ethical compliance, and managing risk.

Our board meets 5 times per year on the third Wednesday of the nominated month at 10 Cary Grove, Minto from 5.15pm to 8pm. We also have a board planning day in May each year that goes from 9am to 4pm.

You do not need any qualifications but a knowledge of the aged care sector and or the NDIS would be an advantage.

Duties of all Team Members

To assist the organisation to provide a high quality service in compliance with funding agreements by ensuring you are aware of, and comply with, all Policies & Procedures that impact upon your position.

Organisational Roles

Responsibility is to ensure that all board members first and foremost act in good faith and in the best interest of the organisation.

Organisational Parameters

Ensure that the board operates within the organisation’s constitutional and strategic parameters.

Legal Entity

Ensure SWCT has an appropriate legal entity and/or entities to allow its vision, mission, values, core business, desired future and key result areas to be fully realised.

Legislative Parameters

Operate within the parameters and requirements of relevant Local, State & Commonwealth Governments legislation and regulation and associated government or industry standards and quality systems.

Monitoring & Review Responsibilities

Be responsible for the annual, quarterly or monthly monitoring and reviewing of both the organisation, its position and performance against the current and future internal and external environments in which it operates and its own Strategic Plan.

Compliance & Coverage Responsibilities

Ensure that at all times the board, the organisation and the operational teams are compliant with or have coverage against all Local, State and Commonwealth Governments legislation and regulations, standards, quality systems, contracts, funding and service agreements, strategic alliance, joint venture or partnership agreements and other such documents.

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

Provide, drive and cause the implementation of SWCT’s strategic intent and organisation strategy with the aim of delivering stakeholder needs and expectations, and the long-term viability, sustainability and profitability of the organisation.
