Join the CODA Disability Support Board of Management and contribute to a respected, long-standing community organisation supporting people with disability to live fulfilling and independent lives.

As a Board Member, you will play a key role in guiding the organisation’s strategic direction and governance to ensure CODA continues to deliver safe, high-quality, and person-centred supports to NDIS participants across Brisbane.

CODA is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting people with disability in their homes and communities for over 30 years. We are proud to be a provider of choice for NDIS participants, helping individuals navigate their plans and connect to supports and services that recognise choice, foster growth, and enable independence.

Our vision is to collaboratively deliver individualised, quality supports that empower people to live their best lives. CODA continues to evolve its service by recognising lifestyle changes and delivering innovative supports that enhance social connection, inclusion, and well-being.

The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint Non-Executive Board Members to play an active role in the strategic direction and governance of CODA.

You will join a collaborative and skilled Board that provides oversight, guidance, and leadership to ensure the organisation’s long-term viability, compliance, and alignment with our purpose and values.

Board Members are expected to:

  • Contribute to organisational governance and strategic direction;
  • Exercise sound judgement and make decisions in the organisation’s best interests;
  • Ensure CODA meets its financial, legal, and regulatory obligations;
  • Participate actively in Board meetings (held bi-monthly) and subcommittees where relevant;
  • Support stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and promotion of CODA’s vision; and
  • Champion ethical practice, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance, Accounting or Audit (particularly those interested in future Treasurer opportunities)
  • Human Resources and Workforce Strategy
  • Risk, Governance and Compliance
  • Business Strategy or Growth
  • Disability, Health or Community Services Sector Experience
  • Lived experience with disability, or a strong understanding of the experiences and needs of people with disability, their families, or support networks.

 

Previous Board or committee experience is desirable but not essential. A strong values alignment, understanding of governance principles, and commitment to making a difference in the disability sector are key.
