Join the CODA Disability Support Board of Management and contribute to a respected, long-standing community organisation supporting people with disability to live fulfilling and independent lives.
As Treasurer, you will use your financial expertise to make a lasting community impact. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of a well-established disability services organisation that has been empowering people for more than 30 years.
About CODA
CODA is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting people with disability in their homes and communities for over 30 years. We are proud to be a provider of choice for NDIS participants, helping individuals navigate their plans and connect to supports and services that recognise choice, foster growth, and enable independence.
Our vision is to collaboratively deliver individualised, quality supports that empower people to live their best lives. CODA continues to evolve its service by recognising lifestyle changes and delivering innovative supports that enhance social connection, inclusion, and well-being.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Management and play a critical role in ensuring the organisation’s financial sustainability, accountability, and compliance. As part of the Executive Committee, the Treasurer contributes to financial oversight and provides strategic insight into financial performance, governance, and risk management.
Working closely with the Chair, CEO, and Finance Team, the Treasurer helps the Board understand and meet its fiduciary responsibilities — ensuring that CODA continues to thrive as a financially sustainable, values-driven organisation.
As Treasurer, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Oversee financial governance and performance, including budgets, cash flow, and reporting.
- Support compliance with legal, regulatory, and audit obligations.
- Present financial reports to the Board and provide strategic advice on financial matters.
- Contribute to the development of strategic and business planning through a financial lens.
- Engage collaboratively with the CEO and Finance Team to ensure transparent reporting and decision-making.
- Actively participate in Board meetings (bi-monthly) and organisational events as appropriate.
- Support stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and promotion of CODA’s vision; and
- Champion ethical practice, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Desired Skills and Experience
We are seeking an experienced professional with:
- Formal qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA/CPA preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial management, governance, and compliance in a not-for-profit context.
- Experience interpreting financial reports, managing budgets, and providing financial analysis.
- Familiarity with governance and risk oversight responsibilities.
- A genuine interest in contributing to the community and supporting people with disability.
- Lived experience with disability, or a strong understanding of the experiences and needs of people with disability, their families, or support networks.
Previous Board or committee experience is valued but not essential. Alignment with CODA’s purpose and values is key.
Commitment
- Voluntary position
- Board meetings held bi-monthly (with occasional additional meetings as required)
- Opportunity to contribute to subcommittees or working groups aligned to your expertise
