The Cardinia Community Foundation (CCF) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as our Pro Bono Chairperson. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead a committed volunteer board and drive the strategic direction of an organisation that has been supporting local community development since 2004.

The Cardinia Community Foundation has a rich history of fundraising and community support. With a renewed focus and financial backing from the Cardinia Shire Council, we are looking ahead to the next 20-year strategic direction with enthusiasm.

Our vision is to invest in building a strong, healthy, and diverse community, ensuring Cardinia remains a vibrant place to live and work. We partner with passionate corporate sponsors and individual donors and also facilitate lasting impact through workplace giving, bequests, and community grants.

The Opportunity

As Chairperson, you will provide crucial organisational leadership, guiding the voluntary Board to ensure it functions effectively and achieves the Foundation's objectives. This hands-on role involves chairing meetings, setting agendas, facilitating strategic discussions, and overseeing the organisation's mission and operations. You will act as a vital link between the Board, staff, and external stakeholders, often serving as the Foundation's public spokesperson.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Strategic Leadership: Managing the development and implementation of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with our vision for a thriving Cardinia.
  • Board Governance: Chairing Board meetings, overseeing the committee structure, and ensuring robust governance.
  • Organisational Oversight: Providing direction for our Executive Officer and Fundraising and Partnership Manager, overseeing fiscal management, project delivery, and grant administration.
  • Community Development: Ensuring our community development programs align with the Cardinia Livability Plan and our commitment to building strong, healthy, and diverse communities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Board members, key external stakeholders, financial advisors, and auditors.
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensuring policies and procedures are up-to-date, monitoring KPIs, and identifying areas for continuous improvement.

We seek an individual with drive and passion for community development to guide the Cardinia Foundation in the next exciting development phase.

Skills & Experience

  • Senior organisational leadership experience, preferably within a volunteer board environment.
  • Proven track record in setting and implementing organisational strategic direction.
  • Experience in community development and strategic planning and delivery.
  • Strong fiscal management acumen.
